Miniature art is a traditional painting art that has an important place in Turkish and Islamic culture.
Miniature is a traditional art form that is very finely crafted, usually small in size, and has a unique painting technique and narrative language. This art form has been used especially to visualize texts in manuscript books and to make the information in the text clearer.
Key Features and Techniques:
- Composition: In miniatures, events are usually depicted from an overhead perspective.
- Figures: Human and animal figures are drawn in a stylized manner.
- Understanding of Space: Interior and exterior spaces can be shown on the same plane.
- Use of Text: Since miniatures are often included in manuscript books, pictures and text are used together.
- Illumination: Miniatures are often used together with the art of illumination (decoration).
Throughout the training, students can study the works of famous miniature artists and apply this learning to their own projects.
